Experience
Mr. Harrison is a public health/environmental science professional with 17 years of experience in the development, implementation, and management of worker/public health programs. He possesses valuable environmental health and safety experience and perspective gained through employment as a government regulator (OSHA industrial hygienist) and as a technical consultant to the regulated community. Mr. Harrison effectively works and communicates with concerned citizens, shop employees, industry professionals and government regulators on technical projects, often involving highly contentious environmental health and safety protection issues.

Mr. Harrison is knowledgeable of and experienced in CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA, CAA, CWA, SDWA, and OSHA compliance. Project/service delivery strengths in regulatory negotiations, training, organization, oral and written communication. Technical strengths in industrial hygiene, toxicology, human health risk assessment and environmental site assessments. Currently a Board member (appointed by Sarasota County Board of Commissioners) of the Sarasota County Air and Water Pollution Control Advisory Board and the Coastal Advisory Committee.

  • DuPont Legal Defense Team; Human Health Risk Assessment for soil and groundwater exposures.
  • 3M and Chevron; Developed RCRA action levels for soil and groundwater contaminants.
  • U.S. EPA; Negotiated with the Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) on the technical approach and methodology for assessing potential residential and occupational health risks from contaminated sediment exposures.
  • Landfill, Springfield, Michigan; Evaluated the fate and transport of PCBs in surface and subsurface soils.
  • Developed preliminary remediation goals for contaminated soil and groundwater for the Carter-Lee Lumber Company NPL site (pesticides, PCBs), Novacor Chemical Inc. (styrene, ethylbenzene) and for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (priority organic and inorganic pollutant).
  • Westinghouse and Fields Brook PRPs; Evaluated human health risk assessments.
  • Dow Chemical; To support a request for delisting a site in Louisiana from the NPL, performed a human health and environmental risk assessment.
  • Union Carbide North Landfill Superfund Site, Ohio: Utilizing the Superfund Accelerated Cleanup Model (SACM), wrote the risk assessment work plan and performed the risk assessment for an industrial waste landfill contaminated with PCBs and dioxins.
